A woman described as a Chinese journalist became violent during a panel discussion on human rights in Hong Kong at the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham, England, on Sunday, September 30.

This video shows the moment the woman lashed out at volunteer Enoch Lieu during the event at the Birmingham ICC. In a series of tweets following the event, Lieu alleged he had been “slapped in the face” by the woman, who said she was a journalist for the Chinese state-run broadcaster CCTV. He said she became enraged by comments from the panel about China’s growing influence in Hong Kong.
