Pakistani Islamists protested in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan, on October 31, after Supreme Court acquitted a Christian woman of her blasphemy charges.

The country's Supreme Court announced earlier in the week their decision to remove Asia Bibi, who was accused of making derogatory remarks about Islam after neighbours objected to her drinking water from their glass because she was not Muslim, from death row. She was sentenced eight years ago.

Protests also took place across Karachi and Lahore, blocking major roads and closing schools.

Prime Minister Imran Khan warned the protesters the government would act against any prolonged blockade and urged the public to remain vigilant.
