Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with the Indian Army and Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) troops in Uttarakhand’s Harsil village. It is known as one of the remotest border places in Uttarakhand. Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army General Bipin Rawat too was present at the function. The Prime Minister offered sweets to the soldiers and interacted with them. Speaking to the armed personnel Prime Minister Modi had said, “Your devotion to duty in the remote icy heights is enabling the strength of the nation, and securing the future and the dreams of 125 crore Indians.” He had earlier offered prayers at Kedarnath Shrine in Kedarnath of Uttarakhand. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat during his visit.
