Three Major Wildfires Force Thousands
to Flee in California Two of the fires are miles from a bar in Thousand Oaks where 12 people were
killed in a mass shooting. Voluntary evacuations of around
75,000 homes in Ventura County
have been called for because of
the 'Woolsey Fire.' The 'Hill Fire' has torched over
10,000 acres in Ventura County. In Northern California, the 'Camp Fire' has advanced rapidly to the city of Chico, forcing thousands to flee. California fire officials say the 'Camp Fire' left the nearby town of Paradise in ruins. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection says an unspecified number of civilians and firefighters have been injured. It could be days before authorities
know of any fatalities.
