As the voting date of Madhya Pradesh nears, Vinod Sharma, the Political Editor of Hindustan Times, comments on what he calls the most interesting of the five assembly elections in 2018. He says, "As the election date of November 28 gets closer in Madhya Pradesh, the BJP is resourceful and the Congress is hopeful. The BJP's big mascot thus far in the state has been Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He has indeed a popular connect with people. But many believe, even within his own party, that his connect is perhaps dissipating now. And to what extent can the Congress exploit that will determine the party’s future in the state.” Sharma also explains how the three big Congress leaders in the state, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh, will have to act in unison for the party to make a comeback and exploit possible anti-incumbency factor. “Madhya Pradesh is the trophy everybody wants to grab," adds Vinod Sharma.
