Sources to NewsX have revealed that the CVC probe into CBI director Alok Verma has found no evidence of any money transaction as alleged by special director Asthana. The CVC filed its preliminary probe report relating to CBI director Alok Kumar Verma in sealed cover in the Supreme Court on Monday. Verma has reportedly been given a clean chit on this main allegation. There were some administrative lapses but no corruption as alleged. The probe was supervised by justice Patnaik only to supervise investigation.. The report was filed by the CVC team. The SC will be hearing Alok Verma's plea challenging the centre's move of divesting him of his post as CBI chief.
