A 7.0-magnitude earthquake rattled the city of Anchorage, Alaska, on November 30, cracking roadways and causing damage to buildings and structures.
Seismologists called the earthquake the most significant in Anchorage since the 1964 Good Friday earthquake, in terms of how strong the ground itself shook and severity of impact.
This video, filmed from a security camera at a home in Anchorage, shows the moment the earthquake struck. Flashes can be seen in the footage, appearing to be transformers blowing up.
The state has been hit by more than a thousand aftershocks since the initial earthquake, local media reported. There were no significant injuries.
