As it's been doing so in the past, China supports improvements in inter-Korean ties and reconciliatory moves.
This is according to Chinese President Xi Jinping who met with North Korea's foreign minister Ri Yong-ho on Friday, during Ri's three day visit to China.
Beijing's state-run media CCTV reported that President Xi also said he hopes Pyeongyang and Washington make progress in peace talks by understanding each other and that Pyeongyang and Beijing need to continue strengthening their communication to solve issues surrounding the Korean Peninsula.
Foreign minister Ri said that North Korea is continuously making efforts to denuclearize the peninsula and that it seeks to maintain close ties with China for stable peace in the region.
