The former Fox News anchor's nomination sets the stage for a potentially tough Senate confirmation hearing.
According to CNN, Democrats will likely grill Nauert on her qualifications for the position.
Nauert is a less senior person than current U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, who has reportedly sparred with other Trump admin officials.
