Female-Led Films
Earn More Than
Male-Led Films, Study Says From 2014 to 2017,
the top movies starring
women earned more
than male-led films. This was true for movies with
budgets of less than $10 million
or more than $100 million. Researchers from Creative Artists
Agency and Shift7 made the discovery. They based their
findings on the analysis of
350 films listed on the data and
technology provider, Gracenote. Christy Haubegger, C.A.A. agent, via 'The New York Times' Female-led Hollywood movies
accounted for about a quarter
of the top 2017 films. A study from San Diego State University
found that number to be a
drop from the year before.
