House Passes
$867 Million Farm Bill The legislation passed 369-47
after passing in the
Senate on Wednesday. The bill helps
those in the
agriculture industry It also authorizes
funding for nutrition
programs for the next five years. The legislation includes
language that legalizes
hemp production. An early provision that
placed stronger work requirements
for food stamps was not included. The provision had the
support of House Republicans
and President Donald Trump. The bill now moves
to the president's
desk for his signature.
