According to Reuters, oil price fell about 5-percent, down to their lowest prices of 2018.
The price for Brent crude futures dropped by $2.89, bringing the price of a barrel down to $54.35.
The price of West Texas Intermediate crude futures dropped by $2.29 for a loss of 4.7-percent, bringing the price of a barrel down to $45.88.
Oil prices haven't been trading that low since late August and mid-September last year.
A year ago, Brent crude oil was trading around $54.28 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate was trading around $45.67 per barrel.
