According to Business Insider, data from Mastercard Spendingpulse showed that holiday sales grew 5.1% to more than $850 billion this year. Mastercard said that's the best holiday season growth in six years, beating last year's number of 4.9% growth. Online shopping also saw a significant increase with sales growing to 19.1% when compared to last year. Amazon also announced on Wednesday that it saw "record-setting" sales during the holiday.
