Malaysia's king has stepped down after just two years on the throne, ending weeks of speculation about his future.
The National Palace did not give a reason for Sultan Muhammad V's abdication.
But, it follows rumors he had married a former Russian beauty queen during a prolonged medical leave.
It marks the first time for a Malaysian monarch to abdicate since the country gained independence from Britain 60 years ago.
