On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, we bring you the most popular Andhra recipe Nuvvula Laddu It's a delightful combination of sesame seeds mixed with jaggery.
Ingredients:
250 gms Jaggery (Chikki Gul)
250 gms Sesame Seeds (Til)
1 tbsp Ghee
3-4 tbsp crushed Groundnut
1 tsp chopped cashews
1 tbsp Raisins
1/2 cup roasted & grated coconut
1 tsp Cardamom powder
Method:
- Heat a pan, add (jaggery) and let it melt completely. Add some ghee to help the jaggery remain moist. Keep stirring the mixture till the Jaggery melts completely.
- When it changes color, remove it from the flame and let it rest for some time. Add Cardamom powder and mix well.
- Take a bowl, add til (sesame seeds), crushed groundnut, chopped cashews, raisins & grated coconut. Mix all the ingredients.
- Add the Sesame Seeds mixture to jaggery and mix well. Apply some ghee or water to your hand and start making ladoos. The ladoos tastes best hot or cold.
