President Trump slammed the media again in a tweet on Saturday.
President Trump took to Twitter on Saturday and again slammed the media.
He wrote: "@newtgingrich just stated that there has been no president since Abraham Lincoln who has been treated worse or more unfairly by the media than your favorite President, me! At the same time there has been no president who has accomplished more in his first two years in office!"
And in a tweet on Friday, Trump stated: "Fake News is truly the ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!"
The posts come after special counsel Robert Mueller's office disputed a bombshell BuzzFeed News story alleging that Trump had directed former attorney and fixer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about efforts to build a Trump Tower in Moscow.
"BuzzFeed's description of specific statements to the Special Counsel's Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen's Congressional testimony are not accurate," said Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller.
"A very sad day for journalism, but a great day for our Country!" Trump wrote in another tweet Friday in an apparent response to the statement by Mueller's office.
Meanwhile, BuzzFeed insisted its report is accurate.
"We stand by our reporting and the sources who informed it, and we urge the Special Counsel to make clear what he's disputing," the outlet's editor, Ben Smith, said in a statement.
