Following Pakatan Harapan's loss to Barisan Nasional at the Cameron Highland's by-election, Pakatan Harapan Chairman and Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said BN's victory was not surprising as the party was strong in the rural areas.

Mahathir however said the people had made a decision and it should be accepted.

He also said the government has to continue to address the high cost of living.
