South Korea will hold a range of cultural events... to celebrate the first anniversary of its successful hosting of a historic peace platform,… namely the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
And our Won Jung-hwan tells us more... about what we can look forward to.

Just a year ago, people from all over the world gathered in Pyeongchang, a resort town located 180-kilometeres east of Seoul,... to enjoy the country's first-ever hosting of the Winter Olympics.
And to commemorate its first anniversary and vow to carry on the Olympic legacy,… the Gangwon-do Provincial Government announced plans to hold various events from this Thursday to February 17 under the name of "Again, PyeongChang "

The first major event will be held on Friday evening, celebrating the one-year anniversary of a musical performance by North Korea's art troupe in the coastal city of Gangneung.
While the North Korean Samjiyon Orchestra won't be able to attend the festivities this time,… musicians from the South have prepared a special performance to remind audiences of the peace concert that was held a year ago.

Then to boost up the atmosphere,... the official ceremony for the first anniversary of PyeongChang 2018 will be held on Saturday at the Olympic Stadium in Pyeongchang, where the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games were staged.
It will be followed by a grand festival at Gangneung Ice Arena where K-pop concerts and other performances will be held.

But the highlight of the one year anniversary will be the 'Peace Forum',… prepared by the Province to extend PyeongChang 2018's legacy of peace and reconciliation in the coming years.
The forum will be held from Saturday to Monday to discuss peace and human rights,… featuring former president and Nobel Peace Prize winner Lech Walesa,... and many other high-profile figures.

And during the anniversary week, there will also be cultural events and exhibitions for foreign tourists, free music concerts and Korean food festivals.
