India defeated Australia by 31 runs in the first Test at Adelaide to take a 1-0 lead in the four-match series. Chasing 323, Australia were bowled out for 291. Australia began the day 5 on 104/4 with Travis Head and Shaun Marsh at the crease. Some partnerships down the order made sure India had to fight hard for their win.
