A consortium of six South Korean defense firms has been selected as the maintenance partner for key parts of U.S. F-35 stealth fighter jets.
Seoul's Defense Acquisition Program Administration said Tuesday that the companies will perform maintenance and repair work for the F-35s' electronic systems and aircraft injection components.
The consortium, labeled Team ROK, includes Hanwha Systems, Korean Air, LIG Nex1 and Hyundai Glovis .
South Korea becomes the third country to have been selected as a F-35 maintenance partner in the Asia Pacific region... along with Australia and Japan.
