A stressed cobra regurgitated a lizard after being rescued from a mob wanting to kill the snake, after being found in a garden in eastern India.
A local snake rescuer applied medicine to the 12-foot king cobra's wounds and gave it water last Monday (Febuary 25) when it was found in Buguda, Odisha state, but this did not stop the snake from throwing up a recently swallowed monitor lizard when it was released in a forest.
The founder of Snake Helpline praises the rescuer for saving the cobras life on such short notice, that the rescuer: "had no time to go with safety equipment as the mob was threatening to kill the snake. He saved the snake taking considerable personal risk.”
