Currently, Section 228-A of the IPC makes it illegal to disclose the identity of women who've been raped. Doing so attracts a max punishment of 2 years as well as a fine. However, the law allows for the naming of a rape survivor if she agrees to it. Since Damini is no more, the question is whether her family can make this posthumous decision in her name.
