India News: The Allahabad High Court today banned caste-based rallies in the state and issued a notice to all political parties on the same. The court said caste-based rallies divide the society and therefore no such rallies should be organised in Uttar Pradesh by parties.
A PIL was filed in the Allahabad High Court after former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati held a rally in Lucknow on July 7 to gather the support of Brahmins.
