Pakistan terror attack: A heavily-armed team of terrorists and Pakistani troops ambushed an Indian Army patrol along the Line of Control in the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir in the early hours of Tuesday, killing five Indian soldiers.
According to officials, around heavily armed ultras along with the soldiers of Pakistan army (BAT), total around 20 in number, breached the Line of Control and truce on the intervening night of August 5 and 6 and ambushed area domination patrol of the Indian army. Though the Indian soldiers tried to counter the ambush yet they were outnumbered by ultras joined by Pak soldiers, they said.
The killing was the outcome of a specialised operation carried out with precision by Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT), comprising specially trained Special Service Group commandos, regular troops of 801 Mujahid Regiment and Lashkar-e-Toiba militants. Sources said one of the BAT members who ambushed the Indian patrol was Mohammad Anwar, a Lashkar terrorist who is believed to be involved in the killing of two Indian soldiers and later mutilation of their bodies in Mendhar on January 8.
