In what can be a major embarrassment for Pakistan, a senior Chinese official has said that extremist groups in Xinjiang province have "countless" links with the Taliban forces in Pakistan. In a press conference on the sidelines of the Chinese parliament's annual meeting, Nur Bekri, governor of Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region said and I quote "Officials, especially in Pakistan have said over and over again that they oppose violent activities directed against China. But, we've discovered some East Turkesan activists and terrorists from our neighboring country have a thousand and a one links".
