India News : Protesters condemning Saturday's controversial shootout in Shopian district of south Kashmir were lathicharged by security forces in Srinagar today. The police also resorted to water cannons to disperse the demonstrators. As independent legislator Engineer Rashid and his supporters attempted to march towards the civil secretariat, they were intercepted by the police. Dozens of them were detained.
