The cartoon row triggered by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee is escalating further. Former Railways Minister Dinesh Trivedi, on whose ouster the cartoon was based, had a dig at Mamata Banarjee saying cartoons are on integral part of democracy. He also noted that cartoons cannot destroy your image. It is the people who make your image and it is they who destroy it.
The controversy had emanated after a chemistry professor at Jadavpur University, Ambikesh Mahapatra was attacked by TMC workers while returning home on Thursday night and arrested by West Bengal police for allegedly spreading 'anti-Mamata Banerjee' cartoons on the Internet.
