Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran LK Advani accompanied by party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi filed his nomination papers for the upcoming General Elections from Gandhinagar in Gujarat on Saturday. Advani said the Gujarat Chief Minister will become the next prime minister of India. "Modi will become the PM of the country," he said while addressing the media in Gandhinagar.

Last month Advani had courted controversy by wanting to contest from Bhopal, but decided to contest from Gandhinagar later, following intervention of RSS and the party.
