In a fresh twist to the Race to Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Shiv Sena, an important ally of the BJP has decided to break ranks from the NDA and back UPA nominee Pranab Mukherjee for President. The move by Bal Thackeray has further exposed the indecisiveness within the NDA which despite several meetings in the past 5 days is yet to decide on its Presidential nominee. At the same time, it is also another nail in the coffin of PA Sangma's presidential aspirations, who sees his chances of cobbling together a consensus over his nomination increasingly dimmed.
