The situation in Assam continues to worsen, with recovery of four more bodies in two incidents. Three men were killed and two injured after an exchange of fire between security agencies and armed men in Kokrajhar while one body was recovered in Chirang district. Reports are in that the 3 deaths occurred when police had retaliated fire against unidentified armed persons who targeted the Ranighuli police station in Kokrajhar. This is the second violent incident in the past 48 hours. On Sunday, four bodies were recovered from Kokrajhar and Chirang Districts. Kokhrajhar was the epicentre of the ethnic violence that broke out in July and so far 65 are dead and over four lakh displaced.
