Tension prevailed in Noida extension for a second day in a row with farmers demanding enhanced compensation for acquired land and other rehabilitation benefits. The farmers resorted to stone pelting in Haibatpur village after Noida Authority workers and police entered the village for land acquisition. The acquisition was for the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad Highway. Earlier on Sunday, farmers went on a rampage ransacking offices and stopping construction work at private builders' site. The farmers allege that the Greater Noida Authority has backtracked in providing 10 per cent developed plots and 64 per cent hiked compensation.
