The Cauvery water row has now reached the Prime Minister's door with Dr Manmohan Singh holding consultations with both the BJP as well as Congress leaders in two separate meetings. This morning Karnataka Chief Minister met with External Affairs Minister SM Krishna over the issue requesting him to ask the PM to review his decision on sharing Cauvery water with Tamil Nadu. Following that meeting the PM met with Krishna along with Labour Minister Mallikarjun Kharge, Minister of State for Railways KH Munniyappa and Water Resources Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal at the PM's South Block office for an hour. That meeting was followed by another one between the PM and BJP leaders- Karnataka Leaders from both parties have urged the PM to immediately put a stay order on giving Tamil Nadu 9000 cusecs of water daily.
