The LPG gas hike was on the cards ever since the Government restricted the number of cylinders per household to 6. The government has argued that it was forced to free the LPG prices because of the ever-increasing subsidy bill. The subsidy on cooking gas is over 10,000 crores and is set to go up. With the removal of the subsidy domestic LPG prices will move in line with the prices of international prices.
