The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court will decide today if BSP chief Mayawati should face a trial in the Taj corridor case. The court will deliver its judgement on a PIL that has challenged the UP Governor's decision in 2007 to stop the prosecution of Mayawati and her close aide Naseemuddin Siddiqui in the case. The prosecution has cited Supreme Court judgments to state that the CBI doesn't need a sanction from a competent authority to prosecute public servants.
