There has been a major relief for former UP Chief Minister Mayawati in the Taj Corridor case. The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court today dismissed the six PILs that challenged the Uttar Pradesh government's decision refusing sanction to prosecute BSP chief in the alleged scam. This means that Maya will now not face a trial for the alleged embezzlement of 17 crore rupees in project to develop the area around Taj Mahal, initiated by her when she was the Chief Minister. The case against Mayawati was filed in 2003 and in the year 2007, CBI had dropped its probe because the Governor of the state did not sanction her prosecution.
