The latest report filed in the US Senate by Walmart disclosing that it paid upto $25 million towards lobbying for retail entry into India has given the Opposition just the ammunition it needed to target the government. It is now demanding an enquiry into whether some of this money was paid to influential political leaders. The government on the other hand is finding it hard to justify the haste with which the decision was passed.
