Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Ahmedabad Tuesday for his scheduled meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday.
On Monday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah arrived here to a roaring welcome from party activists. A large number of BJP supporters welcomed Shah at the airport.
BJP’s Gujarat unit felicitated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah at Adajal Trimandir on Ahmedabad-Mehsana highway on Tuesday. Over 10,000 BJP workers including office bearers to attended the function.
This is Modi’s first visit to his home state after taking over as Prime Minister in May.
Wednesday’s meeting between Xi and Modi will also mark the 64th birthday of former Gujarat CM.
The 600-year-old city of Ahmedabad is being adorned to put its best face forward for the top leaders of the world's two most populous countries who will meet and dine at the Riverfront Park, on the banks of the Sabarmati river in the upscale Shahi Baug area, on Wednesday evening.
Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 until he became Prime Minister in May this year.
