The BJP has issued the formal notification of the election schedule for its Party president. The party's election officer announced that the process would be held on the 23rd of this month. Nominations are to be filed on this date and the date for election would be announced if there is more than one candidate. The RSS is working to build consensus around Nitin Gadkari. Sources say veteran leader L K Advani has proposed Sushma Swaraj's name for the post. Whether there is to be an electoral contest will become clear on Wednesday.
