The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Thursday made the first arrest in the gang-rape of a nun in West Bengal, picking up a man named Md Selim from Mumbai. Selim, who sources said was directly involved in the case, was being brought back to Kolkata. The arrest came the 12th day of the incident wherein the nun was sexually assaulted after a gang of half a dozen robbers broke into a convent school near the town of Ranaghat in West Bengal and ransacked the premises. Police had earlier detained around 10 people for questioning but no arrests had been made over the attack on the nun, aged 71.
