The Delhi government on Tuesday transferred Home Secretary Dharam Pal, escalating tussle between Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung. The Aam Aadmi Party government has asked Pal to report to the Home Ministry. The slugfest between Kejriwal and Jung over appointment of secretaries had begun on May 15 over the appointment of Shakuntala Gamlin as the chief secretary in-charge, who the Delhi CM accused of lobbying for power distribution companies. Also, the development comes on the day when Delhi Law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar was arrested over his alleged fake law degree. The AAP cried foul and linked it with its anti-corruption campaign.
