NewsX: The 150 year old iron pillars at Kalaghoda in south Mumbai, are not only a feather in the hat of architecture of Mumbai but also India as well. Esplanade Mansion is India's oldest surviving cast iron building where the building's cast iron frame was imported specially from England.
But now this unique structure carries a notice that deems it unfit for human dwelling... Wanting to preserve this heritage of cast iron frames, the owner and tenants are pitching in 420 Crore rupees to renovate it.
