Supreme Court has agreed to hear the petition of BJP leader, Subramanian Swamy, regarding reinterpretation of the term 'juvenile' under the Juvenile Justice act.
But the Apex Court has categorically made a distinction between this petition and the sentencing of the juvenile in the Delhi Gangrape case. The minor accused was 17 when the girl was brutally gangraped and left to die.
Swamy wanted the sentencing of the case to stop till his petition is heard. SC however directed the Juvenile Justice Board to proceed in accordance with law.
