Food Security Bill has been passed in Lok Sabha and will now be tabled in Rajya Sabha. The six-hour long discussion saw the opposition blasting the Government for being in a tearing hurry without installing the machinery required to implement the bill.

The Congress is hoping that this legislation will translate into electoral benefits for 2014 general elections.
