Congress president Sonia Gandhi will arrive in Mandya on Monday afternoon on her first visit to Karnataka after the resounding victory of the party in the recent Lok Sabha by polls to Mandya and Bangalore rural seats.
While the visit is essentially intended to thank voters of Mandya for reposing faith in the Congress and helping the party seize two seats from the Janata Dal(S), sources did not rule out the possibility of the Congress president replying to the attacks launched by the BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi against the UPA government at the Centre. She might also use the opportunity to have a discussion with Chief Minister Siddarmaiah and KPCC president Dr G. Parameshwar on ironing out differences in the state Congress.
