An earthquake measuring 5.2 struck the Nepal-India border at around 10.22 pm on Thursday. Tremors were felt in parts of Uttarakhand including Champawat, Srinagar, Garhwal and Almora.
The epicentre of the earthquake was 24 kilometres north east of Dharchula in Uttarakhand, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
Earlier in the day, a 3.3 magnitude earthquake struck Himachal Pradesh's Kullu. No loss of life or property was reported.
