After two members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) were arrested for allegedly assaulting a member of All India Students' Association (AISA) at Delhi University. The members of ABVP carried out protests at the Delhi Police headquarters. The ABVP has also planned a counter protest march in the Delhi University today. As the debate over free speech peaked across the nation, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Shazia Ilmi claimed that her name was dropped from the list of speakers at an event in Jamia Millia Islamia University alleging that it was so because she belonged to the BJP. The latest developments raising questions with prominent names like Omar Abdullah claiming that the right to free speech cannot be selective.
