Social activist Anna Hazare on Tuesday started his indefinite hunger strike here to press the government for immediate passage of the Jan Lokpal Bill in Parliament.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh telephone Hazare on Tuesday just as he began his fast and assured him of making headway with the Lokpal Bill.
