The Reserve Bank of India is likely to increase the policy rate by 25 basis points in the mid-quarter monetary policy on Wednesday, bolstering its fight against record-high inflation despite the country's sputtering growth engine. If indeed rates go up, this would be the third hike by Raghuram Rajan in as many policy reviews since taking over as governor in September, all by the same degree.
