L'affaire Devyani Khobragade has escalated into a full-blown diplomatic spat between India and the US. Stung by the humiliating treatment meted out to India's deputy consul general in New York, New Delhi on Tuesday upped the ante by taking a series of steps including withdrawal of certain privileges from American diplomats, removing barricades around the US embassy and seeking information on wages paid to Indians employed by the US embassy and the American School.
