Surrounded by controversies, Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti was on Wednesday caught on camera having a minor scuffle with the Delhi Police personnel.
The scuffle came after he insisted on heading a surprise raid on what he claims was a prostitution racket. Bharti claims Nigerian nationals are involved in prostitution and drug trafficking in the Khirki village area.
"We asked the police to conduct a raid. Initially they tried persuading me to not conduct this raid. Later they refused to conduct the raid. If they do not listen to a Law Minister how will they help the common man," Bharti said.
The Delhi Police said that they are still ascertaining the facts of the case and so far no decision has been taken to file a formal complaint with the Lieutenant Governor.
